Going through softcore mutation...
I really like washing keyboards. There's just something about throwing them in a tub full of water and scrubbing them with a brush that just really amuses me. I think it's because in most situations water + electronics = a very bad thing.

Yup- doesn't hurt them a bit. I've heard you can even throw them in the washing machine, but we don't have one in the apartment, so I make do with a tub full of soapy water. Just drain it good when it's done and make sure it gets to dry for a couple of days before you plug it back in. And try not to be too horrified at the inordinate amount of lint/crumbs/gods-know-what that comes out of it. It's amazing what efficient little dirt collectors they are, especially if you have the habit of eating lunch at the computer, like I do.
