The new aquisition

I didn't catch the significance of the tiger rug until after I took the pictures (I was really just looking for some contrast as my carpet is brown, too) but it turned out very British Raj, which is kind of amusing.

It does indeed work- and very nicely, thank you.

Poor kitty...
And I am annoyed. HuntingGirl and HighbornHuntingGirl, and several variations, are not available as usernames for Gmail. I was considering finally putting my old hotmail account to bed, but apparently I am not going to yet.

Well, you know, the Polyester Tiger is a very prolific beast and isn't even counted as a threatened species.

That is annoying about the Gmail thing. There's got to be more variations on the theme that haven't been taken yet, though.

Good eyes- it's a Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.1, of actual British manufacture (well, about 90% of it, anyway...)

lucky guess, i was basing it more on your strong ties to Brittania-esque stuff and my limited knowledge of pre- M1 Garand firearms that usually feature a full length wooden stock, yay for (half)blind luck :D

Well, I don't have a strict affinity for British firearms; it's just that I enjoyed that one hooked to the simulator so much I had to get one for myself. And once you've seen one, you can't mistake them for anything else; they're pretty distinctive as far as looks go. I don't think there's ever been anything else like them.

Very little recoil, too, if you're interested- considering a .303 is close to a .30-06, there's far less kick than you'd think. It soaks a lot of the recoil by virtue of its nearly ten pound weight.

yeah, with any luck i'll finally get to shoot my grandpa's M1's soon, which is a .30-06 and ten pounds, i should be able to handle it though, cuz i hunt with a .280, a necked down -06 and much lighter.
