Drinking tea, listening to Devo, re-reading the entire Penny Arcade archives. Mmm.

Well, I been working in a coal mine

Going down down

Jack Thompson needs therapy. Seriously. Thompson, if you're reading this (and I assume you are, as apparently you troll the 'net looking for the least little mention of your name) SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP. GO TO A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST AND START ON INTENSIVE THERAPY. NORMAL PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE THIS KIND OF PARANOIA. YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS. SEEK HELP.

I think the guy is in the midst of developing schizophrenia. The whole thing summarizes to "video game industry = mass terrorist conspiracy" and that's just intensely paranoid (not to mention highly unlikely...) If he's really got it into his head that he's a superhero fighting against a sinister force of evil...I really think there's a serious mental illness involved.

Yes, more Devo

There will probably be a lot more over the next few days. I'd forgotten how much I <3 them.

Come Back Jonee!

The Owlvark's Mum, not doing too badly considering she'd never fired anything in her life before. I gave her a quick rundown and she did pretty good, considering.

There were a couple of terrific marksmanship simulators at the Royal Armory. This is me on the Enfield one (the others were a Bren and a Vickers, both original, like this one); I was 96 out of 110 on my first try and 106 out of 110 on my second. They're a really nice rifle; I plan on picking one up when I get home. Still deciding on caliber, though.

Time out for FUN!

(I should note that the link is indeed a Devo video, so that none of you non-fans have to suffer through it by accident. Non Devo fans, ignore this post entirely. But for those of you who are, this is also a Devo video, or, more exactly, an eight minute live rendition of Jocko Homo, with a long aside in the middle with a bunch of props, Mark Mothersbaugh, and a girl I am now blindingly, viciously jealous of. Enjoy. Or not. It's up to you.)

Haven't said it in a while...

...But I <3 Devo. They got me through high school. Thanks, guys.

One of my all-time favorite SinFests. And good shorthand to explain why I'm extremely spiritual instead of particularly religious.

Mmmm, SinFest

Tell 'em, sister! What we should be doing is working to treat women and girls better, not boys worse.

If you know me, you know that I don't have any particular hangups about sex; I feel that if everyone involved is mentally and physically adult, mature, and above the age of consent, and no one's getting hurt who isn't specifically requesting to be, then no one should bug them in whatever they choose to do. Note the words "adult" and "mature"- I find this bizarre trend of letting preteen girls dress like two-dollar hookers absolutely revolting. Isn't childhood short enough these days? Why do parents let their children wear this shit?

Master Ninja Theme Song would be a cool show name for a horse.

Holy lord, look at the view!

This is out the kitchen window of an apartment in Scarborough that belongs to a relative. We got to borrow this place for the weekend, and I am still just absolutely blown away by how awesome it was. We spent a couple of hours over breakfast just staring out the windows. It was actually pretty bright and shiny that morning, so I'm not sure why it looks all dull out; I might have been too far back and the camera was catching the low light in the room, or something, I don't know.

Continuing reasons to love the Stomp Tokyo boards

"In the end, it's like getting a 2-inch marital aid as a wedding gift: you wonder what the point is and why it was made in the first place. "

Adding on to the last post, Bernadette Seacrest and her Yes Men is/are awesome.

Looking for something different in your music? Try CDBaby. They rock. They're inexpensive, comprehensive, and they have a search feature that allows you to search for bands that sounds like bands you like already. They ship quickly, have a cool option to ship without cases (but with inserts included) that saves you money on shipping, if you're worried about these things, and they're actually interested in and looking out for the artists they carry. I've ordered from them twice and they've been great both times; one of the CD's was backordered and not only did they email to tell us (which you would expect) someone wrote out a little post-it note to explain and stuck it in the package (which you would not). Cool place.

Best Spam Title Ever...

"On top of that, spam filters battle to keep up with spammers while, in the process, blocking emails that we want to receive."

At least they're honest...
